I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's bout.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
